Board Members

Each board member is first-in-command in their area of assignment. They are accountable to the Administrator, and to the Board as a collective body. Meetings are called as needed, at the request of any board member. Our goal is for each board member to handle their job well, communicate where needed with the others, and keep meetings to a minimal. Spouses are also considered board members even though they don’t walk through every Thursday with us. The input from different perspectives is very important to us.

New Administrator

Dear Thursday Connection Families,

The Board has the pleasure of announcing that Michelle Bickers has joined the Board and will start in January as the Administrator for Thursday Connection. Michelle has been a member of Thursday Connection for nine years and has served lunches for the board and teachers for a number of those years and been active in many support roles. We are all delighted that we know her heart of service. For the rest of this semester, the Board will continue to work closely with Michelle in this training period for her to learn and pick up what she needs to.

Michelle has nearly ten years work experience in business positions including administrative, insurance, and special events planning. She has devoted herself to volunteer work over the last several years while she has been raising her family. We are confident that all her experiences have qualified her to be able to take the reins of Thursday Connection with skill and confidence.

Roles and Duties

Director of Finances: Claire email: claire@thursdayconnection.org 

Responsible for collection of money, bookkeeping, financial statements, and recommended budgets. Responsible for distribution of scholarships, refunds, maintenance of petty cash, balancing of the monthly bank statements. Responsible for all fundraising planning and implementation. Will make deposits into the Thursday Connection bank account. Responsible for registration records.

Volunteer Coordinator: Shannon Wilson email: sew211@gmail.com  

Manages all volunteer workers. Prepares schedules and supervises the weekly workers. Provides updated job descriptions to volunteers. Holds absentees accountable. Reports all difficulties to administrator.
