Lewis’ popular story, and will be a fresh reminder of what Christ did for us. The cast of 40 people includes more than half who are either currently homeschooling or homeschool graduates. If you are on Facebook, you can see the cast and check out pictures from all the practices (scroll way down!): http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=23427402938&ref=ts

Ballroom Dancing Lessons

Call Mr. Tom Ellison at 691-6150 for more info and to sign-up.

Join the fun of Ballroom Dance. This is great exercise. The classes are offered on Tuesdays @ Deane Hill Community Center (690-0781) located at the corner of Morrell and Deane Hill Dr.

Classes begin September 2
 Beginning Students: 10:15 a.m. (ages 10yr & up)
Intermediate Students: 11:15 a.m.-12:45 p.m. Returning students or those with some dance experience --check with Mr. Ellison to see what class you should join.

The cost for these terrific classes is ONLY $8.00 per class. Parents are welcome to join in at the same low price. You pay as you go. No registration fee. NO special shoes or clothing are required. Old slick sole tennis shoes or similar shoes are recommended by the teacher. Of course if you have dance shoes you may wear them, but you can get by very well in the tennis shoes.

This is a grand opportunity to receive lessons at a GREAT price. Mr. George T. Ellison is the instructor. He is trying to hold the prices down so more can become involved in this wonderful exercise. The more students the more fun it would be, so bring a friend and come join the fun...(FYI This is not like Dances with the Stars...this is real Ballroom.)

There are places for parents to sit and observe. There is also a nice outdoor playground & soccer field in the back. Snack and drink machines are available. You do not have to stay in the building. You are very close to Target/West Town/Kmart if you want to run a quick errand.

Camp Wesley Woods Home School Days

Below are the fliers that give the details for Camp Wesley Woods Home School Days. I'm especially interested in getting the word out that we'll add another day on November 6th if there is enough interest. We'd need that input as soon as possible so we can schedule it.

All of this information is available on our website. People can go to www.campwesleywoods.com  and click on Homeschoolers. If anyone has questions, they can contact me at my email address below.

Trip to Mexico

Hi Everyone!!

For several years now you may have heard me mention that I wanted to get a group together and take them to a Spanish speaking country. It is finally going to happen! I have found a company I really like and want to travel with and I am inviting all of you to come with me. It is planned for the summer of 2009 to Mexico. The trip will be about 10 days long and it will include visits to the pyramids and the Mayan ruins, as well as, many other places. Anybody who is 15 yrs old or older may travel without a parent. Anyone under 15 yrs I would like to travel with a parent or other adult (23 yrs or older). This trip is not recommended for those under 6 yrs of age because it is very fast-paced and involves a lot of travel time and energy.

We will have an informational meeting on Thursday, March 27th at 4:30pm at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church (driving directions below). Please come join me - I will give you all the details and you can ask me any questions you may have. You can also bring your children 4th grade and above if they want to know more about the trip. I will have some videos showing about what we will be doing while we adults talk business. I will have a little taste of some of the foods we may encounter in Mexico ....or not. This will be their first chance at learning about a new culture by comparing the Mexican food in the US to the Mexican food in Mexico when we actually eat it over there.

The company we are traveling with is called EF Educational Tours. Their tours are planned with the student in mind and include many educational components. They are accredited so high school students can earn credit for this trip if they wish - ask me how. They also offer the lowest prices for the highest quality.

If cost is a concern - there are things we can do. We will talk about them.

If you are interested but are not able to come to the meeting please email me back. I also need 1 or 2 people to help me on Thursday before the meeting (at about 4:00pm) and during the meeting. If you are able to help out please email me or call me.

If you are coming , please let me know so I can get an idea of what size room we need.

I am REALLY excited about this opportunity for my students and their families. I hope you can come to the meeting and travel with me!
